Population Boom and Decline
The village experienced a population increase in the period between
1881 and 1921. It was always a small settlement as shown by popu-
lation records. In 1881 it had a population of 64 inhabitants which
more than doubled by 1921. Due to the trend of urbanization and
abandonment of the countryside, the population began to decrease.
After 1931 the population started to drop and by 2001 the popula-
tion was just 3 inhabitants. This number remained more or less
stable for several years. In recent years there has been a slight in-
crease. The last census (2022) showed 10 permanent residents.
