The two most important buildings of the village are The “House of Kat-
sinioros” and the “House of Achilleas Dimitri” which are “Ancient Monu-
ments Schedule A”. According to Antiquities Law this means they are Gov-

ernment property. These two houses were fully restored by the Department
of Antiquities and together they form the Fikardou Agricultural Museum.
In 1987, these two Houses were awarded the Europa Nostra International

Award. Fikardou is on the Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage Center.
